Thank you for your interest in the clinical training program at Trinity Christian College’s Counseling Services!  Trinity Counseling Services exists to promote emotional wellbeing, relational health, and spiritual vitality for each sector of the college’s diverse student body through clinical counseling and related services.  Master’s Level Counselor Interns and Clinical Psychology externs are central to the clinical operations of Trinity Counseling Services.  Counseling Interns and Psychology Externs who fulfill their field training with us carry out important clinical, consultative, and administrative assignments that coalesce into a generalist training experience in the field of mental health.

Clinical Psychology Counseling Practicum and Externships

Although Trinity Counseling Services is not a member of the Association of Chicagoland Externship and Practicum Training (ACEPT), we make every effort to align with ACEPT’s timelines for recruiting and selecting psychology externs out of respect for those applicants training in ACEPT-affiliated academic institutions.  As a result, Trinity Counseling Services will follow the timeline below for the 2017 matching process psychology externs:

February 3      Receiving of Application and Corresponding Materials

March 4           Interviews Will Begin and Notification for Decline to Interview

March 17         Pre-notification of Intent to Offer, Alternate Status, or Decline to Offer

March 20        Matching Day with Formal Offer to Applicants and Receipt of Acceptance from Applicants

Clinical Mental Health Counseling Practicum and Internships

Applicants from Clinical Mental Health Counseling programs or from Trinity Christian College’s Counseling Psychology program are not bound to the ACEPT timeline above.  Receiving of applications and corresponding materials will begin February 3, 2017.  Interviews and position offers will be made on a rolling basis thereafter.
